Pilots | Brian Garth
Brian has lived and worked in the Yarra Valley since 1991, first as a Forest Ranger at Toolangi and later as the director of his own family business, Eco-Adventure Tours, conducting 4WD tours and forest night walks. He began his ballooning career with Global Ballooning as a ground crew in 1994, then gained his private pilot certificate in 1997. Since obtaining his commercial licence in 1998 he now pilots some of the largest balloons in Australia and has flown throughout regional Victoria, Western Australia and New South Wales.
Ballooning has given him another unique way of experiencing the great outdoors, and despite having flown over fourteen hundred flights in the Yarra Valley, he says no two flights are ever the same. Brian is also our Yarra Valley Operations Manager.
His local knowledge and enthusiasm for the promotion of the region is a great asset and he believes he has the best "office" in Australia.
The most frequently asked question by his passengers after the flight is if he has ever held a real job!
